DHSUD Steps Up Protection for Homebuyers
The Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) is intensifying efforts to safeguard homebuyers, following progress in resolving its regulatory backlog.
Secretary Jose Ramon Aliling directed Senior Undersecretary Sharon Faith Paquiz, head of the DHSUD Zero Backlog Program, to address homebuyer complaints swiftly and effectively.
"Our homebuyers deserve peace of mind. It is DHSUD’s mandate to ensure their protection," said Secretary Aliling, aligning with President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s push for efficient and transparent governance.
Zero Backlog Progress:
Since Secretary Aliling assumed office in May, DHSUD has cleared nearly all of 3,100 pending regulatory cases dating back to 2020 — with only 82 left, set to be resolved in the coming days.
Expanded Housing Access:
Secretary Aliling has revamped the Expanded Pambansang Pabahay para sa Pilipino Program (4PH) into a people-centric initiative, including subdivisions, rental, and incremental housing options. Over 42 private developers have pledged to build more than 250,000 housing units.
Call to Action for Homebuyers:
Undersecretary Paquiz encouraged the public to formally report erring developers to receive proper assistance.
Empowering Buyers:
